Thanks so much for your coverage. Depression effects far too many people, and too often it comes back again and again like a bad plague.

Zindel Segal and others saw the genius of Jon Kabat Zinn's MBSR, and figured out a way to adapt it to help prevent depression relapse. I'me trained in their method, called Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, and have offered it in NYC since 2007.

I'm gratified by how many people have been helped. Thanks for helping spread the word about this important new, proven treatment.

The west is just starting to understand the unseen world of energy that courses through the human body and all other layers and dimensions of reality. Everything is energy, once we learn to tap into these energies with our focus and attention, the sky is the limit. The mind, or rather the control and observation of the mind, is a very powerful tool in self-healing. Coming to terms with self-defeating behaviors and patterns, is only one benefit of mindfulness therapies.

This type of healing and wellness activity is one of the best ways to promote a stress reduced and more balanced life, physically, mentally, and spiritually.

This is a great overview of MBSR. Although the use of these techniques within cognitive psychology is, as you phrase it, "a relatively new idea," these techniques have been around for centuries, rooted deeply in Buddhism and other Wisdom traditions of the east.

This is a wonderful and inspiring website! I'm glad to be following it as a "fan" on Facebook.
