Wow! I had no idea! I really enjoyed this article. While, obviously, as a reader of Mindful Muscle, I use the website and blog for information related to fitness and consciousness and how to integrate the two into my fitness routine, I found this article to be a refreshing break from the rest of the articles and blog posts. We so often do and say things (not only in our workouts) and we do not fully understand why we do these things! I hope to see more articles and blogs related to history/ significance/ meaning/ little-known facts like this one.

As a relative yoga virgin (a handful of wonderful yoga classes and a handful of really bad ones), I had not heard this greeting. I love the physical manifestation of connecting the mind to the body. Good article, and the film was beautiful. Thank you.

Very interesting article! I wish there were more greetings of this nature in my everyday life. Wouldn't it be nice to get a heartfelt 'Namaste' from your neighbor?

I find it very interesting that Nitin Kumar interprets the word namaste to be a rejection of all selfishness. I think to really be at peace, we need to do this and this explanation seems pretty spot on. Very interesting article!
